The World’s Most Famous Gift Wrap Artist
Alton DuLaney is an artist, curator and television personality. As a conceptual artist, he researches art’s ability to transform the perception of objects, images, and actions, as communicated through artistic expression, the relevance of site, and the identity of the artist. His multi-disciplinary practice includes painting, sculpture, photography, textile, neon, jewelry, video, tattooing, branding, mail art, public art, and, of course, performance art. Alton has shown his work in exhibitions in Texas, Los Angeles, and New York City as well as Europe and South America. His work is in many important private and public collections.
As The World’s Most Famous Gift Wrap Artist, Alton has appeared on numerous national TV shows including Rachael Ray, The Jimmy Kimmel Show, The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS Sunday Morning, The Wendy Williams Show, Access Hollywood, ETV, The Harry Connick Jr Show, The Drew Barrymore Show, as a judge on HBO’s Craftopia, as host of Great Gift Exchange on YouTube, and as a judge and co-host of The Ultimate Gift Wrapping Challenge on QVC+.
Since 2019, Alton has been the Curator of Public Art for Houston Airports, overseeing one of the largest art collections in the aviation industry. Houston Airports has been bestowed the World’s Best Art in the Airport award for three consecutive years, in 2023, 2024, and 2025, by the international auditing firm Skytrax.
Alton has a BFA from the University of Texas in Austin, MFA from the University of Houston, where he also taught Public Art. Alton is from the small East Texas town of Splendora, where he recently ran for mayor.
